Barnet Market has a place in history with its charter being one of the earliest recorded.
The Market is over 820 years old!
On 23rd August 1199 King John issued a charter for a market in Barnet to the Lord of the Manor, the Abbot of St. Albans, John de Cella.
The Market has come a long way since gaining its charter and is proud of its tradition of providing value to the population of Chipping Barnet.
